Description
  • Properties:
  • The liver is resilient and metabolically very efficient, but can be weakened and damaged by many causes: medications (paracetamol, amoxicillin, ibuprofen, antiretroviral drugs), viruses and parasites (hepatitis A, B, C, malaria), toxic substances (drugs, fungi, food contaminants), alcohol, a diet high in fat and carbohydrates with a high glycemic load, diabetes.
  • The benefits of VitaDetox & Protect:
  • - Acts on the 3 phases of detoxification: functionalization, conjugation, elimination.
  • - Unrivaled bioavailability thanks to the liposomal form.
  • The keys to hepatic detoxification:
  • The liver eliminates endogenous or exogenous toxic substances through successive transformations that increase the solubility of these substances in biological fluids (mainly urine and bile).
  • Several processes are involved in this. Enzymes involved: Cytochrome P450, glucuronidases, methylases, and sulfatases. The liver requires nutrients such as B vitamins, molybdenum, choline, and taurine to carry out these metabolic reactions. Liver protection: Certain plant extracts (green tea, milk thistle, and broccoli) also optimize the rate of detoxification reactions to prevent the formation of particularly toxic metabolic intermediates. This is known as uncoupling between phase I and phase Ii, whose metabolites (often radicals) attack liver cells. Furthermore, other substances, such as medications, have a detrimental effect on glutathione, the liver's most important hepatoprotective antioxidant. An ultra-complete formulation: Milk thistle: Milk thistle (Silybum marianum) has been studied in more than 30 clinical trials. Highly antioxidant, the silymarin it contains has a very protective effect on the liver. Silymarin, isolated in 1968, is actually a mixture of substances, the main compound of which is silybin. It acts on drug-induced, alcoholic, and viral liver damage. It also protects the liver from chemotherapy drugs. - Broccoli and Sulforaphane: A key mechanism by which enzymatic defense mechanisms can be enhanced is by increasing nuclear E2-related factor 2 (Nrf2). One of the most potent natural ligands for Nrf2 is sulforaphane, a substance found mainly in broccoli in its glycosylated form, glucoraphanin. Many studies have shown protective effects against certain cancers and air pollutants, including benzene. - Green Tea and Egcg: Green tea is known for its diuretic and antioxidant properties. This is mainly due to its flavan-3-ols, one of the most potent of which is epigallocatechin gallate (Egcg). This polyphenol reduces the activation of toxic substances by decreasing the uncoupling between phase I and phase Ii of liver detoxification and promotes phase Iii of waste elimination. Choline and Taurine: Choline is traditionally considered a B vitamin (B4). However, this is controversial, as choline can be produced by the human body. This nutrient is both a methyl group donor, enabling methylation reactions (such as SAMe or betaine), and a precursor of bile acids. Its choleretic effect is therefore important. The same applies to taurine, which is also a precursor of bile salts. Molybdenum: Molybdenum is a little-known but essential nutrient for the metabolism of sulfur-containing amino acids, including methionine and cysteine. The latter is a precursor of glutathione, the most important hepatoprotective antioxidant.
