Description

The figures are meticulously crafted, from facial features to body structure, with the utmost attention to detail. These hand-painted figures are ideal as small anatomical models for both biology lessons and independent learning. Starting with Lucy (who lived approximately 3.8 to 2.9 million years ago) and continuing to modern humans, children playfully discover human evolution through five different stages.
Australopithecus afarensis:
Have you ever heard of Lucy? Then you're already familiar with Australopithecus afarensis, whose name literally means "southern ape from Afar." Australopithecus afarensis lived in East Africa between 3.8 and 2.9 million years ago.

It possessed characteristics of both apes and humans; among other things, it had a body that allowed it to walk upright.
Homo habilis:
Several thousand years after Australopithecus afarensis disappeared,

Homo habilis lived in Africa and West Asia around 2.4 million years ago. The name means "skilled man" and refers to his ability to use tools—an important step in human evolution. He had a larger brain, but still arms like an ape and a protruding lower jaw.
Homo erectus:
Between 1.9 million and 143,000 years ago, Homo erectus spread throughout Africa and Asia.

Homo erectus means "upright man" and refers to the species that lived on the ground and no longer in the trees. In addition to the well-known use of tools, Homo erectus had body proportions that were much more human than ape-like. Some scientists believe the species may have cared for its sick and elderly.
Homo neanderthalensis:
Homo neanderthalensis is better known as the Neanderthal. He lived throughout Asia and Europe between 200,000 and 28,

The Neanderthal is the first species recognized as human, as its brain was the same size as that of modern humans. Furthermore, it could use tools and control fire. The name refers to the Neander Valley in Germany, where some of the first fossils were discovered. Homo sapiens sapiens (wise man) Homo sapiens means "wise man" and is the name for the species to which every human on Earth belongs. It is believed that Homo sapiens evolved in Africa 200,000 years ago.

Its distinguishing features include a lighter build and the large brain that we utilize today. The figures can be used individually or in combination with anthropological skulls.
