Description
Origin and Plantation
While the east of Rwanda is covered in swamps and savannahs, the high mountain forests rise in the west. The temperature here is less hot and, thanks to volcanoes, the soil is perfect for growing coffee. At an altitude of 1,700 - 2,100 meters, many smallholder farmers cultivate Red Bourbon coffee and then wash it with spring water. The farmers are supported in cultivation and harvesting by the "Abizeraba" cooperative.
Character and Taste
Rwanda Nyamasheke has a gentle
black tea accent
. It has a fruity note reminiscent of
apple and raisin
and impresses with a light,
syrupy
sweetness that caresses the taste buds.
SPECIAL FEATURES
Rwanda is only roughly the size of Brandenburg and is also known as the "Land of a Thousand Hills." With altitudes of up to 2,000 m and its mild, humid climate, it offers optimal conditions for coffee cultivation. Rwandan coffee is among the best in the world and is described as velvety and harmonious, with delicate nuances of flowers and fruits such as apples and grapes.
