In the traditional Ayurvedic view, man is a microcosmic reflection of nature. In the Ayurvedic concept, the five elements (fire, earth, water, ether, and air) are perceived in every single person. An individual combination is assigned to each person, which, according to Ayurvedic principles, remains unchanged throughout life. Within the human body, the aforementioned five elements are manifested according to three basic principles in Ayurvedic teachings. In Ayurvedic teachings, this is referred to as the Tridosha and, in its individual basic principles, means:

Through the classification into the Doshas, a fundamental nature is described for the individual. Based on this fundamental nature, it is possible to recognize individual needs and promote or suppress them according to Ayurvedic traditions. Characteristics of the Ayurvedic Doshas: Different characteristics are assigned to the various doshas. Vata: describes the connection between air and ether and represents movement in the body, thus denoting life energy itself. Pitta: is said to describe the connection between fire and water. However, it should be noted that when the term "fire" is used in its literal sense, it refers to the heat energy of the human body. The Pitta dosha is also attributed with further characteristics such as hot, bright, liquid, subtle, sharp, soft, and clear. Thus, it can be stated that the Pitta dosha is governed by the concepts of heat, temperature, and all chemical reactions. Kapha: in the Ayurvedic view, represents the connection between earth and water. The Kapha dosha symbolizes structure and form. Kapha is also associated with qualities such as cold, wet, heavy, slow, dull, static, smooth, and dense. Therefore, the Kapha dosha represents substance, weight, and cohesion within the body.
