Description

The Gluckigluck carafe impresses with its unique shape and versatile uses. Besides serving cold drinks, it can also be used as a decorative flower vase. The wide range of colors and sizes makes the Gluckigluck carafe a wonderful statement piece for any home. It owes its name to its distinctive gurgling sound when poured. The carafes are handcrafted from ceramic in Great Britain.

In addition to a variety of colors, they are also available in different sizes. The Gluckigluck jug is a true icon in England and a staple in many homes. The carafes have a history spanning over 150 years. About the history of the
Gluckigluck carafe:
The Gluckigluck jugs were originally manufactured by Thomas Forester & Son in Staffordshire in the late 1870s. Most people, however, will associate these jugs with Dartmouth Pottery, which originally produced a fish-shaped water jug they called "Gurgling Fish Jugs...

a novelty that always attracts attention."A special pair of jugs was made for the Queen and Prince Philip in 1958 to mark their visit to the Britannia Naval College for the presentation of the new flags. The college's Commanding Officer commissioned the jugs,

which were 9 inches tall, glazed green, and inscribed with the royal insignia and the date July 28, 1958. This gift undoubtedly contributed to the jugs' popularity, and they became highly sought-after collector's items. They were also used as promotional items by breweries, and over the years hundreds were produced to promote Plymouth Gin. Gurgling jugs were intended for use as water jugs—they got their name from the sound they made when poured.

When Dartmouth Pottery closed in 2002,

Wade Ceramics had the opportunity to purchase the mold for the Gluggle Jug and has been producing them ever since. Meanwhile, the Gluggle Jug has been copied countless times.
The copies are not up to the original:
they are not sustainably produced in China, and their import to Europe leaves a large environmental footprint. The copies are also not suitable for drinking and may only be used as vases.
And most importantly:
the copies don't gurgle!

So stick to quality and fun, stick to the original!
