  • After the Second World War, the Brezzo family began beekeeping in Monteu Roero, Piedmont. To this day, the second generation specializes in varietal honeys such as chestnut, lemon, thyme, and acacia. The aromas of their honeys reflect the landscapes of northern Italy. Their beehives are located beneath chestnut trees, in herb meadows, between alpine roses and rhododendron bushes. The hazelnuts preserved in honey are, of course, also from Piedmont. They make a special vinegar from their acacia honey. Honey vinegar is the oldest type of vinegar in existence; its existence is documented as early as ancient times. Brezzos dissolve the honey in water and allow it to ferment gently. The result tastes mild and harmonious. However, all the enzymes and mineral salts are still present.
  • Ingredients
  • Brezzo honeys are natural products; they are unflavored, they contain no flavorings, and they are honeys produced by bees that visit individual flower fields. The taste of honey is influenced by the particular blossom of the plant. Italian Lemon Honey (Miele di Limone) Brezzo lemon honey comes from bees that have collected nectar from lemon blossoms and is only produced in a small area in eastern Sicily. It is quite rare to find lemon plantations large enough to allow the production of pure lemon honey. In terms of properties, it is quite similar to the color orange, which differs from the others in its rather acidic and spicy note. Due to these characteristics, as well as in combination with cheese, it is also excellent as a sweetener for herbal teas and cold drinks. It is best combined with fresh and aged cheeses. Harvest time: April - May. Harvest region: Sicily. Consistency: crystallized. Color: straw yellow to white. Aroma: lemon blossoms with a sharp note. Taste: refreshing, reminiscent of lemon jam. Brezzo's honey experts respect the qualities of this gift of nature at every stage of the production process, which is strictly controlled and prepared without heat treatment. Intervention in the product is minimal, and honeys from different batches are not mixed to preserve their typicality. Ingredients: Lemon honey (country of origin: Italy).
  • This "Miele di Limone" honey, harvested in the east of the Sicilian island, is a culinary specialty. The fresh citrus note of the aroma combines here with a hint of almond flavor. The finely balanced ratio of fruit acidity and sweetness and the creamy consistency go perfectly with fresh brioches or thin-flavored croissants.
