ORIGIN
The apricot is believed to have originated in Armenia. In Europe, its main growing areas are Italy, Spain, and France.
Interesting facts:
Apricot, apricot, peach, and nectarine. They are all sweet, fruity, and usually covered in a fine down.
The apricot is the small, yellow one among the sweet fruits, and Marille is nothing other than the Austrian name for apricot.
The fruits not only taste sinfully sweet, but also contain plenty of vitamins.
They contain an extraordinary amount of provitamin A, as well as vitamins B1, B2, and C, as well as minerals such as potassium, calcium, and phosphorus.
We are happy to offer you a delicious recipe example.
Apricot Halves Recipe:
Apricot Dumplings (for 4 people):
250 g low-fat quark
60 g butter
125 g flour
1 tsp sugar, more if desired
100 g butter for the breadcrumbs
approx. 5 tbsp breadcrumbs
1 cup cinnamon (Indian) with sugar
500 g Food-United Steamed Apricots
Melt the butter, but do not let it get hot.
Add the quark, flour, and sugar, mix well, and let the dough rest briefly so the butter can cool again.
In the meantime, drain the apricots.
Fill each half with a spoonful of cinnamon sugar,
place a second half on top and cover the fruit with dough, sealing it tightly. In a not-too-small pot, bring water with a pinch of salt to a boil.
Carefully add the dumplings and turn the heat down.
The dumplings should not boil, but simmer in the water for about 20 minutes. Fry the breadcrumbs in butter until golden brown, then add the remaining cinnamon sugar. When the dumplings are done, roll them in the toasted breadcrumb mixture and serve.
