Description
The scent of the manufactory between heritage and today The Royal Porcelain Manufactory takes you on an olfactory journey behind the scenes of the traditional walls that have guarded the secrets of Berlin porcelain production since 1763. During the complex transformation of three natural raw materials - kaolin, feldspar and quartz - into elegant objects for tables, tables and home decor, perfected down to the last detail, the experts are surrounded by numerous special scents. The special scent bouquet of Berlin porcelain can be experienced particularly in the master paintings of the traditional manufacturer: experienced master painters mix powdery color pigments with natural oils such as lavender, anise and orange and, alongside detailed flower paintings, landscapes, vedutas and individualizations, bring an aromatic scent composition to life that lets the senses wander. The scent of the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin now fills your own feel-good residence as an aroma candle with the fascinating flair of its place of origin. Captured by a porcelain vessel from the KURLAND collection (1790), the fresh fragrance composition Edition WEISS tells the story of the porcelain manufactory, which has existed for over 250 years, between heritage and modernity. Top notes: Pineapple, Tahitian lime, Calabrian bergamot, Asian red pepper Heart notes: Indian jasmine, iris, violet, Texas cedarwood, nutmeg, agarwood Base notes: White musk, Arabian myrrh, teak and precious woods, amber, benzoin resin The KPM Berlin brand was founded in 1751. “White gold”, as porcelain is still called today, was the great passion of Frederick II of Prussia, who took over the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin from the merchant Johann Ernst Gatzkowsky in 1763. The king gave it the name and his symbol: the cobalt blue scepter, which to this day distinguishes KPM's exclusive pieces as original. Until the abdication of Wilhelm II in 1918, KPM in Berlin was owned by seven kings and emperors and can rightly be counted as one of the most exclusive and historic German brands. With the end of the monarchy in 1918, the KPM became a state porcelain factory.

After the Second World War, the manufactory fell to the state of Berlin, which changed the name back to the Royal Porcelain Manufactory and sold it to Jörg Woltmann in 2006. The Berlin banker determined the realignment of the traditional company by promoting internationalization as a premium brand and consistently focusing on expanding the brand to
