Description
  • To illustrate the relationship between products and factors:
  • The 1 x 1 triangle moves away from simply thinking in terms of multiplication tables. It focuses on the product and the factors that make it up. Here, the multiplication table is not important, but rather the product and its factors. For example, what factors make up the number 12?
  • Beyond the 1 x 1:
  • On each 1 x 1 card, the product is at the apex of the triangle, and a factor is in each of the two bottom corners. When the cards are placed in the transparent box, the green dots applied to them conceal one or both factors. Who already knows their times tables so well and knows the number they're looking for?
  • The training cards are color-coded as follows:
  • The colored product numbers indicate the type of the second factor pair present.
  • *All products in the first ten have a factor of 1. Examples: 1 x 7, 1 x 8.
  • To help children form the tables, easily memorized factor pairs are used. For simplicity, the numbers 4, 6, 8, and 9 are only shown as products
  • with a single (learning-relevant) factor pair
  • and color-coded.
