Description

A classic blend based on a balanced combination of Arabica and Robusta beans, forming the basis for a strong and structured coffee with a distinctive flavor. The intense aromas of the finest Robusta beans give the blend a rich, nutty brown color and a characterful taste.
About the Roastery:
Passion for Coffee - Since 1882. The traditional Piedmontese coffee roastery Caffè Vergnano has been run by the Vergnano family for four generations. They will continue to focus on creativity, innovation, and quality.

Caffè Vergnano has a long and prestigious history. It was founded in 1882 as a small general store in Chieri, a town at the foot of the Turunian hills. This was run by the grandfather of the current owners,

Domenico Vergnano. The Vergnano family's true calling soon became apparent: within a few years, the small shop had mastered the secrets of coffee roasting and sales. The company grew rapidly, and the first three Italian stores were opened in Turin, Alba, and Chieri.

However, the first real leap forward came in the 1930s,

following a bold decision: the purchase of a coffee plantation in Kenya. The company looks confidently to the future. Today, the factory covers 13,500 square meters and boasts 18 automated production lines. It ranks sixth among Italian wholesalers and is represented in 19 regions of Italy with over 4,500 Horeca customers, as well as with more than 70 sales outlets in 19 countries worldwide. Furthermore, it exports to more than 80 countries with extremely positive results.

Our coffee:
a perfect blend of tradition and innovation - The high quality of Vergnano blends is achieved through an exceptional process and the selection of raw materials. A careful selection of the best raw materials - Caffè Vergnano preserves the advantages of a traditional company while simultaneously being one of the most dynamic producers and pioneers. The slow and traditional roasting process - Roasting is the most important stage in the coffee processing,

as the concentration of flavor and aroma depends on a precise degree of roasting. And it is precisely in this phase that Caffè Vergnano still processes coffee in the traditional way. The coffee varieties are roasted separately according to their origin, which allows the desired degree of roasting to be achieved.

Unlike most large modern roasters, which use the industrial "turbo method" consisting of 5-6 minute cycles at high temperatures, Caffè Vergnano employs a "slow" roasting process with cycles lasting 18 to 22 minutes. Quality is our top priority – Caffè Vergnano has embraced the principle of sustainability in environmental matters, because protecting the environment and improving its quality leads to a better quality of life. Environmental quality and food safety – Since 1999, Caffè Vergnano has adopted the new globally applied environmental policy that states that improving environmental quality is synonymous with a better quality of life. The company has decided to act in substantial compliance with both mandatory and voluntary regulations on environmental protection and product safety. To achieve this goal,

Caffè Vergnano has been granted specific authority for environmental quality and food safety, implemented in accordance with the voluntary international standards
Uni En Iso 14001:
2004, Ifs (International Food Standard), and Brc (British Retail Consortium).

The quality department has also been granted specific decision-making powers regarding both financial and personnel management. A blend with a full and fragrant aroma with spicy notes, typical of the Robusta beans used, with a rich and lingering body and slightly bitter nuances,

balanced by the characteristic soft and gentle aroma of Arabica varieties from Central and South America. The extract has an exceptionally dense and persistent crema with amber-brown hues. This blend is designed for a well-balanced coffee experience. The capsules are compatible with Nespresso® home coffee machines.
