Description

The small butter dish from the Kurland Blanc Nouveau series is a response to the success of the butter dish from the classic Kurland collection, launched in 2021. Developed at the request of many enthusiasts, the Blanc Nouveau version, with its striking contrast of glazed surfaces and matte Kurland rim, once again showcases the distinctive aesthetic of this Kpm icon, which has been around for over 230 years. Since its creation,

commissioned by its namesake, Peter Birons, Duke of Courland, the series has been expanded to include numerous contemporary pieces. The classicist rim, with its delicate egg-and-dart molding and cloth trim, has been meticulously crafted for the compact shape of the small butter dish,
and in its matte bisque finish, it brings the charm of true craftsmanship and everyday luxury to the table. The Kurland dinner service, comprising approximately 70 pieces, is not only the most comprehensive but also one of Kpm's most popular dinner services.

Strict lines and symmetry, subtly softened by a delicate border, combine to create an ideal form. Enjoy the splendor of classicism with the porcelain from the Kurland service by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin. Pure white,

the Kurland saucer for coffee or teacups shines with brilliance. Around 1790, Peter Biron, Duke of Courland, commissioned the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin to design and produce a magnificent dinner service. Following the courtly Rococo style with its shell and tendril motifs, the return to antiquity became the dominant stylistic element around 1770.

The Berlin manufactory created a service in a strictly classicist form, initially called "Service with Antique Rim." In honor of the Duke,

this homage to the ideals of the ancient world was later renamed Kurland. The "Kurland" service in white is dishwasher safe and microwave safe. The Kpm Berlin brand was founded in 1751. "White gold," as porcelain is still known today, was the great passion of Frederick Ii of Prussia, who acquired the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin from the merchant Johann Ernst Gatzkowsky in 1763.
The king gave it its name and his symbol:
the cobalt blue scepter, which to this day distinguishes Kpm's exclusive pieces as originals.

Until the abdication of Wilhelm Ii in 1918, Kpm in Berlin was owned by seven kings and emperors and can rightly be considered one of the most exclusive and historically significant German brands. With the end of the monarchy in 1918,

Kpm became the State Porcelain Manufactory. After the Second World War, the manufactory fell to the state of Berlin, which changed the name back to Royal Porcelain Manufactory and sold it to Jörg Woltmann in 2006. The Berlin banker determined the realignment of the long-established company by driving its internationalization as a premium brand and has consistently focused on expanding the brand to this day.
