Description

Assessing Conflict Situations Correctly:
A ball rolls into the street, a child is excluded from another child's game, a stranger in a car asks for directions – children, too, find themselves in problematic, conflict-ridden,

or even dangerous situations. The question then becomes, "What now?" How should I react? For each of the 18 situations, children are presented with three possible courses of action, encouraging reflection and discussion. Is there a preferred solution? How else could I react?

What are the arguments for each approach? Children recognize that there are situations where it's crucial to keep a cool head. They learn that in difficult situations, one should think before acting and that several solutions are usually possible. Three sets of images depict clear danger situations. These are accompanied by cards with possible courses of action, warnings against them.

These sets of images require particular attention. Furthermore,

two sets of pictures address the concept of "good and bad secrets," teaching children that there are secrets that feel bad and that can and should be revealed! Reflecting on one's own actions: The situations on the cards are chosen so that all children can relate to them. Every child could theoretically find themselves in such a situation or has already experienced something similar. The cards encourage children to talk about their own experiences and to consider together what they did right and where they could have behaved better.

This allows them to reflect on their own conflict situations and to openly discuss even difficult experiences.
Speaking prompts for language lessons:
The cards are also excellent in language lessons as conversation prompts or suggestions for creating original stories. The familiar situations stimulate the imagination and usually require only basic vocabulary in the respective language.
