Description
  • Apicoltura Castel Belfort Chestnut Honey is a natural, cold-extracted blossom honey from Italian chestnut forests. The honey is gently processed to preserve its aroma and nutrients and is suitable for both everyday enjoyment and culinary use. Key Features: 100% Italian chestnut honey from selected chestnut forests; Cold-extracted to preserve natural ingredients; Monofloral honey from chestnut blossoms; Dark amber color, rather liquid consistency; Characteristic, slightly tart and woody flavor; Suitable for cheese, meat dishes, snacks, and desserts; Gentle, artisanal processing. Product Description: This chestnut honey is made from the nectar of chestnut blossoms that bloom in Italian forests between June and October. The bees collect nectar during this time, resulting in a monofloral honey with a distinctive character. The honey has a dark, amber hue and a rather liquid consistency. The aroma is pronounced, with woody and spicy notes. The taste is robust, slightly bitter, and reminiscent of tannins, similar to those found in chestnuts and certain teas. Thanks to cold processing, the honey's natural composition is largely preserved. Chestnut honey naturally contains various minerals, as well as small amounts of B vitamins and vitamin C. Additionally, it contains plant-based compounds such as polyphenols. Culinary uses: As an accompaniment to cheese platters, especially mature or strong cheeses; with meat dishes, for example as an ingredient in marinades or glazes; as a spread on bread, rolls, or rusks; to sweeten yogurt, quark dishes, or muesli; as an ingredient in dishes and desserts; to round out sauces and dressings. General information on consumption: Honey is a natural food and can vary slightly in color, taste, and consistency depending on the harvest year, region, and blossom. These differences are typical of traditionally produced honey. Honey is naturally sweet and is suitable as an alternative to refined sugar in beverages and dishes. The amount added can be adjusted according to personal taste.
  • Tolerance and Notes:
  • Not suitable for children under 12 months
  • Caution is advised for people with a known allergy to bee products
  • Honey should be consumed in moderation as part of a varied diet
  • Storage and Care Instructions:
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
  • Always close the container tightly to prevent moisture and odors from entering
  • Do not store honey in the refrigerator, as this can promote crystallization
  • If natural crystallization occurs, the honey can be gently liquefied again in a water bath at a maximum lukewarm temperature
  • Do not heat the honey excessively to preserve the product's typical properties
  • Apicoltura Castel Belfort Chestnut Honey represents carefully harvested honey from Italian chestnut blossoms, distinguished by its dark color and characteristic flavor, and versatile in its use in the kitchen.
